Stubblefield is in a gifted guitarist. The founding member of Incendio (including Seduction and vihuela), who have at least managed already in the Billboard charts sets, with Inspiración now already his fifth solo album before. The musical approach is basically the same: a lot of Latin to be folk and world music mixed into a concoction that is played brilliantly. However, there are also new ways to Inspiración because Jim Stubblefield is limited by the disc only on the classical guitar, fretless bass (Randy Tico) and percussion (Bryan Brock). So that the music is something raw and boisterous from the speaker than to the sometimes rather smooth plates produced his band. He describes this move as "Back to the Basics," as he started. The approach must be smaller orchestra with a lot of confidence in his own ability and both are unquestionably present at Jim Stubblefield. With incredible technical sophistication and high speed, the virtuoso playing by his 10 compositions. Fortunately, Randy Tico returns with the fretless bass a fine counterpoint to the music not killed with the blazing guitar playing to. Who is on very virtuoso guitar music with Latin and Spanish influences can respect that Inspiración not far wrong. If you prefer a more quiet should listen first, because Jim Stubblefield sets from the first second to go like a madman.

...there is also always music that works like a charm from the first note and after the first piece, one is hopelessly in love with this music. ...the compositions have substance and depth and often develop the energy of a brilliant jam session. The three musicians seem to work together telepathically. Every break, every melody line is unmistakably in the right place in the overall sound.

On his solo album are melodies that speak and he shows that he is a dazzling guitarist. For this new release "Inspiración" is actually hard to stop listening to. It is beautiful.

The American-born musician, Jim Stubblefield made a very remarkable guitar album recently. The result is a burner over high heat...

California has long been a place for musical inspiration. Of the Beach Boys, the Eagles up to Jack Johnson, there have always been musicians who were led by a typical feeling for the Sunshine State. The southern California and much of Mexico is dominated by Latin American influences, not only know those who know the origin of the name Los Angeles. Jim Stubblefield has with his CD "Inspiration" set his musical focus entirely on the Latin American influences. With flamenco guitar and classical guitar, he explored the cultural shaping of Southern California and the conquistador Pistolero, the pirates of Tortuga to the far Peru's Machu Pichu. These consist mainly of the Spanish influences make the music inspirations Jim Stubblefield, despite Latin American felling look very Mediterranean. "Inspiration" is an entertaining, fast-paced CD, which is based significantly on Nuevo Flamenco.

Something a little different from what we usually review, but definitely worth the interest. Jim Stubblefield plays the acoustic guitar, or even something quite close to flamenco guitar. He's based in California and for the last 15 years he has, on his own, or together with various group formations, integrated Latino and Hispanic influences in his aspirations to make inspired music. Accompanied by a bass player and a drummer he provides us with ten instrumental pieces, such as "The Conquistador", "Terra Bella" or "Across The Border". Jim makes sure to vary the musical atmospheres and the album never becomes lengthy or tiresome. He is a man with great talents and all of you who enjoy acoustic guitar playing will love him.
